Louis Johnson was the most valuable player of the 1991 British Columbia senior boys AAA basketball tournament, leading the Richmond Colts to the provincial championship.
Richmond entered the tournament 23-0 against B.C. competition. Johnson scored 20 in the opening win over Williams Lake, 20 in the quarter-final against Abbotsford and 18 in the semi-final against Vancouver College. In the final — the sixth meeting of the season between Richmond and the Burnaby Central Wildcats — Johnson scored 22 as the Colts won 94-78 for their sixth straight victory over Central that year.
"This is my dream," Johnson told the Vancouver Sun after the final. "This is the best I've ever felt."
