Eric Hinrichsen of the Campbell River Carihi Tyees was the most valuable player of the 1994 British Columbia senior boys AAA basketball tournament — the first player in the tournament's history to be named MVP in two different divisions, having won the same honour in the AA tournament in 1993, when Carihi took the AA provincial crown.
In the 1994 bronze medal game, Hinrichsen scored 36 points and grabbed 29 rebounds as Carihi beat the Windsor Dukes 92-64. He finished the four-game tournament with 101 rebounds.
"An incredible athlete," his coach Peter McLoughlin told the Vancouver Sun. "He gives you 110 per cent all the time."
